Lucca
Another beautiful
city is Lucca, only 80km from the Tenuta.
The old walls enclose the historical
center and are a symbol of the city.
They are impressive and well preserved,
it's ideal to walk or cycle (easy to
rent) around them .
You can enter the city from the St.Peter's
door ,which is one of the six entrances.
The other doors are Porta Elisa, Porta
S. Jacopo, Porta S. Donato, Porta S.
Maria e Porta S. Anna. The main street
is Via Fillungo with many elegant shops
and buildings.

Gimignano
San Gimignano is
very close to the Tenuta, only 10km
away. San Gimignano is famous for it's
towers, they are a major tourist attraction.The
town origins go back to the tenth century
along the Via Francigena or Romea. This
road was the route between the old sanctuaries/Monastries
and between Europe and Rome and recalls
the medieval times. Originally there
were 72 tall towers but only 14 remain.
They were built to symbolize the power
and richness of the families who lived
in this ancient city.

Certaldo

Vivaldo
San Vivaldo
is a small village 5 km from the Tenuta,
where you'll find the old Franciscan
convent of San Vivaldo. The body of
the saint was found in the truck of
a chestnut tree that he used as home.
This small village reproduces the topography
of the Holy Land. The convent is a national
monument, it's setting is romantic and
wild, the mystic atmosphere invites
